What we do

Three fronts, all in the same neighborhood. Here's how each one works.

Neighbors repairing the front of a house

Program 01

Housing

We help families repair their homes — roofs, wiring, paint, whatever it takes to live safe and dry. The neighbor provides the house and sets the priorities; we bring materials, tools, and hands, one Saturday at a time.

  • Roof repair and weatherproofing
  • Basic electrical and plumbing fixes
  • Paint and finishing
  • Materials covered by the program
Families organizing food baskets

Program 02

Food

We gather and deliver food baskets with the families on each block. It isn't top-down charity: the families themselves build the routes and decide who gets one first. In June we delivered 312 baskets.

  • Monthly food baskets
  • Routes organized by neighbors themselves
  • Donations from local shops
  • No complicated paperwork or requirements
Volunteers at a community build

Program 03

Community builds

One Saturday a month we get together to build and repair as a community — a plaza, a wall, a house. The date, time, and what to bring always go out ahead of time. Bring gloves; we bring the rest.

  • Saturdays, 9 a.m.
  • No experience needed
  • Tools and materials included
  • A shared lunch at the end
