An organization that starts on the block
We're a community nonprofit. The name says it: the core of the apple is the part at the center, the part that holds the seeds.
We started on one block. A group of neighbors got together one Saturday to fix a roof that had been leaking for months. There was no committee and no launch — there were ladders, sheeting, and coffee. When we finished, another roof still needed doing, so we came back the next Saturday.
That's the whole formula. The people who live somewhere know what's needed. We bring hands, tools, and consistency, and we do the work with them, not for them.
Today we work across several blocks in the neighborhood, with three programs: housing, food, and community builds. We still measure the work in concrete things — roofs, baskets, Saturdays.

Who does it
Volunteers and neighbors
We're volunteers, neighbors, and a small team that coordinates. You don't need experience to join — most people learn on their first Saturday. If you can swing a hammer, great; if not, someone will show you.
